To upload pics the process is easy -

First of all, take the picture. What picture we should take? So far I understand as a beginner take a photo of a very simple subject. Subject that makes you feel good. Like for me it's the " SKY ".

Next, Upload the picture after making the photo SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) friendly for better visibility.

SEO is important because, when someone is looking for a picture they wish to buy and somehow if it is relevant or similar to one picture you have uploaded earlier, search engine will show that to them on the search results.

Simple and easy steps to make pictures SEO friendly :

Properly Re-naming the picture file before uploading to Shutterstock. Use Subject keywords and Object keywords to do that. Use - ( hyphens ) between words to separate them instead of using spaces. Example : Blue-sky-with-moving-white-clouds.jpg

Here both "Blue sky" and "clouds" is the prime or Subject keyword.

Upload the picture and Add picture's Title using Subject keywords and object and also use their relevant keywords . Example: "Moving white clouds in the morning sky."

The word " morning " is a related keyword, as blue sky usually we see in the morning. We also could use the word " day " here, if we wish.

Add a Description that elaborates about the picture. In the description we can also add where we can use the picture.

Use Relevant Tags using Focused or Subject keyword and its alternative keywords (like : ). And also object keywords and their relevant alternative keywords.

Now, how to do that? Look at the photo and point out what the subject ( Subject : Lead / main role on the pic ) is. What attracts you the most in the photo.

And also what objects ( Object : Other important parts around the subject ) you are seeing that is making the photo even more attractive.

That subject you see on that picture will be the Prime or main keyword. Make a note of those words. And also write down the alternative keywords of these prime keywords.

Next, look at the objects and mark down them and also the alternate keywords of those.

Use the Subject, object, relevant keywords to make a simple sentence easy to understand.

Purpose of SEO, Getting what this is all about. Make it clear with words. If someone reads the title or description, that person should get a clear picture about this in her/his head.

So, Rename the file. Upload and Add the Title and Description and Add Tags. Submit.

Once Submitted it will be under the verification process. Wait for them to verify the pictures, This could take 48 hours, however, it usually takes less than that.
